இவ் அணுஆலை அமைப்பதற்கு எதிரான போராட்டம் பற்றி ஊடறுவுக்கு கருணா ரயினா அனுப்பிய செய்தியை ஆங்கிலத்திலும் தமிழிலும் தரப்பட்டுள்ளது.

கூடங்குளத்தில் அணுமின் நிலையத்தில் மின் உற்பத்தி துவக்க கூடாது என வலியுறுத்தி கூடங்குளத்தை அடுத்துள்ள இடிந்தகரையில் செப்11ல் இருந்து பல்லாயிரக் கணக்கானோர் உண்ணாவிரத போராட்டத்தை நடத்திவருகின்றனர். இதில் அப்பிரதேசவாசிகள், சூழல் நலன் விரும்பிகள், மாணவர், மக்கள் பிரதிநிதிகள் என 127 பேர் தொடர் உண்ணாவிரதப் போராட்டத்தினை மேற்கொண்டு வருகின்றார்கள்.
நேற்றைய தினம் இப் போராட்டத்தினை மேற்கொள்வோருடன் தமிழக அமைச்சர்கள் நடத்திய பேச்சுவார்த்தை பயனளிக்காத நிலையில், இந்தப் போராட்டம் இன்று ஆறாவது நாளாக நீடித்து வருகிறது.
உண்ணாவிரதம் மேற்கொண்டுள்ளோர் சிலரின் உடல்நிலை மிகமோசமாகியுள்ள இன்றைய நிலையில் தமிழக முதல்வர் ஜெயலலிதா, அனுமின்நிலையம் பாதுகாப்பாகவே அமைக்கப்பட்டு வருகிறது. ஆதலால் யாரும் எந்தவித அச்சமும் கொள்ளத் தேவையில்லை. எனவே உண்ணாவிரதப் போராட்டத்தை அப்பகுதி மக்கள் கைவிட வேண்டும் எனக் கேட்டுக் கொண்டுள்ளமையானது, தமிழக அரசின் மீது நம்பிக்கை வைத்துப் போராடிவரும் மக்களுக்கு ஏமாற்றமளிப்பதாக, போராட்டத்தில் ஈடுபட்டுள்ளோர் தெரிவித்துள்ளனர்.
ஜப்பானில் சமீபத்தில் நிகழ்ந்த அணு உலை விபத்தின் காரணமாக லட்சக்கணக்கான மக்கள் தங்கள் இருப்பிடங்களை இழந்துள்ளார்கள் .இதன் காரணமாக வளர்ச்சியடைந்த நாடுகள் பலவும் தங்கள் அணு உலைத் திட்டங்களை மறு பரிசீலனை செய்யத் தொடங்கியுள்ளன .மாறாக இந்தியப் பிரதமர் பல அணு உலைகள் அமைப்பதில் தீவிரமாக உள்ளார்.
இதனிடையே தென் தமிழகத்திற்கு அச்சுறுத்தலாகி வரும் கூடங்குளம் அணு உலையைப் பற்றிய சில அதிர்ச்சிகரமான உண்மைகள் வெளியாகியுள்ளன. இந்த அணு உலைகள் மக்கள் நெருக்கம் மிகுந்த பகுதியில் அமைந்துள்ளதால் விபத்துக் காலங்களில் கடும் நெருக்கடியை சமாளிக்கவேண்டிய சூழ் நிலையில் இருக்கின்ற வேளையில் அணு உலையின் பாதுகாப்பு குறித்து சந்தேகங்கள் எழுந்துள்ளது.
கூடங்குளம் அணுஉலை 2001ம் ஆண்டு கட்டத் தொடங்கப்பட்டது. தொடங்கப்பட்ட சில நாட்களிலேயே அணு உலை கட்டுமானத்திற்கு பயன்படுத்தப்படும் மணலில் கடல் மண் கலக்கப்படுவதாக சர்ச்சை எழுந்தது. அப்போது தொகுதி சட்டமன்ற உறுப்பினராக இருந்த அப்பாவு அவர்கள் திருநெல்வேலி மாவட்ட ஆட்சியரிடம் இது குறித்து புகார் தெரிவித்தார்.பின்னர் இது பற்றிய விளக்கங்கள் எதுவும் பொது மக்களுக்கு தெரியப்படுத்தப் படவில்லை .
இந்நிலையில் இப்போது புதிதாக சில அதிர்ச்சிகரமான உண்மைகள் வெளிவந்துள்ளன .அணு உலை அமைந்துள்ள பகுதியிலிருந்து 5 கிலோ மீட்டர் சுற்றளவிலான பகுதி நுண்ம பாது காப்பு பகுதி (Sterilized zone) என்பதால் அங்கு தொழிற்சாலைகளுக்கு அனுமதி இல்லை .அதிலும் அணு உலை அமைந்திருக்கும் பாறைகளுக்கு பாதிப்பு ஏற்படுவதை தடுக்கும் வகையில் கல் குவாரிகளுக்கு முற்றிலும் அனுமதியில்லை .

Over 25,000 people in Idinthakarai village in Tamil Nadu are protesting and 127 people are on a hunger strike against the nuclear project in Kudankulam. [1] The proposed plant will use Russian technology, which according to a report continues to be a risky option. [2]
Even after witnessing the disaster at Fukushima 6 months ago and the explosion in France recently, [3] our government wants continue with nuclear energy. This is not what the local people want. Especially when safe alternative energy solutions exist.
Chief Minister Jayalalitha has failed to address the concerns of the people in Kudankulam despite the indefinite hunger strike. An accident here will affect all of us. We need to tell the CM that the entire country supports the demands being made by the people in Idinthakarai and Kudankulam.
You should show your solidarity with those fasting against the nuclear plant in Kudankulam and ask CM Jayalalitha to address their demand.

Public support behind the movement against corruption made the government bow to the demands of the people. [4] Thousands of petitions asking the CM to stop this project will help put pressure on her to act.
CM Jayalalitha needs to speak up. She has opposed a nuclear warship docking in Chennai in the past [5] and cannot ignore the concerns of the people this time. Show your solidarity with the people and ask Jayalalitha to break her silence now.
